BENCHMARKS
A Note On Benchmarking: benchmarking
is the practice of measuring the speed of various components
of a system. While there are many utilities out there I try
to find the ones which are the most reliable, Sandra is not
really one of them but I threw it in just for the screen shots.
In reality a system is only as good as it can be in real world
experience, IE., game play or graphic intensive applications
such as Micro Station or various desktop publishing packages.
If you want to see your system cry like a baby run Code Creatures
on it, I can e-mail you a copy if you like.
A Note On Overclocking: overclocking
or OCing as it is referred to on the Internet is the practice
of making a system run beyond the manfactures specs, it voids
your warranties. As much as I would like to discuss OCing
as it applies to The Mechanizer I have to plead the 5th amendment
and can neither confirm nor deny that the machine has been
overclocked. If you would like to discuss OCing in further
detail e-mail me. Stock speed is 3.2Ghz with various internet
sites pushing this PIIII up to 5Ghz as on Tom's Hardware Guide.
IF, and the key word is IF the Mechanizer were to be OCd,
it would probably run stable at about 3.6Ghz but, that is
just in theory of course..
Note: You MUST use the
same version of PCMark and other utilities to compare results.
